Release Window
March 28, 2026 - April 8, 2026
This build added new stages, a full boss fight, relic paths, unit passives, custom sprites, mobile/web support, and a major interface overhaul for both desktop and phone playtesting.
Combat And Units
- Combat rules were rebuilt around clearer hit, miss, critical hit, and critical fail bands.
- Elemental Rune Knight, Wind Reaver, Arcanist, and Life Warden all received fixed stat tuning, clearer roles, and custom attack effects.
- Life Warden was added as the fourth playable hero with healing, self-heal support, and Sapling relic interactions.
- Critical failures now only deal self-damage instead of increasing the next hit requirement.
Enemy Side And AI
- Enemy teams now randomize their non-boss lineups while playable heroes stay fixed.
- AI target selection was improved so enemies re-evaluate after moving and attack valid targets instead of wasting turns.
- Enemy units now use custom names, portraits, and themed attack effects like poison shots, boulder smashes, and blade swings.
- Display colors were swapped so players are Blue and enemies are Red, which matches what most players expect.
Stage Progression
- The run now spans six stages, with Treasure or Camp choice routing before Stage 3 and again before Stage 6, plus Boss 1 between the two loops.
- Stage clear screens, route reward screens, defeat flow, and final victory flow were rebuilt to better explain what comes next.
- Playable survivors gain Passives after stage clears, and those effects now show up in the team roster as status chips.
- Treasure relics, Camp Site bonuses, end-of-run stats, and two save slots were added to support longer playtesting sessions.
Boss Encounters
- Boss 1 now features Troll Chieftan, a stationary 2x2 boss with frontal zones, a range-based slam check, daze effects, and mini mobs.
- Mini mobs now spawn from destroyed terrain, return back into terrain when defeated, and despawn when Troll Chieftan dies.
- Troll Chieftan was upgraded to 40 HP and 5 damage, with stronger auto attacks and more marked frontal zones.
- Boss warnings, danger tiles, mini mob behavior, and boss-specific sprites were all added for readability.
Board, UI, And Readability
- The board art was rebuilt into grassy and sandy field tiles with terrain, line-of-sight blockers, tombstones, and stronger highlights.
- The guide, treasure, and rules flows were rebuilt into cleaner card-style panels instead of dense text walls.
- Initiative, history, stage overlays, dice-roll faceoff cards, HP labels, hover roster matching, and turn flow readability all received polish.
- The new click-through tutorial was added to teach board highlights, buttons, unit roles, and the stage structure in smaller steps.
Audio, Web, And Mobile
- Dice roll sounds, button hover sounds, stage fanfares, music rotation, and audio sliders were added and tuned.
- A web/mobile test build was added for GitHub Pages and phone playtesting.
- Mobile now has a pause hub, sharper board rendering, better touch-first layout decisions, and on-board HP readouts.
- The title menu, settings flow, save flow, and browser test path were all updated for easier sharing with playtesters.
